Texas Legislature Debates Legalization Of Poker
It's rather ironic that Texas Hold 'Em is illegal in Texas. Pending legislation (HB 3186) would legalize public, commercial games of Texas Hold 'Em. While much more aggressive gambling proposals are also on the table, including a constitutional amendment to allow casinos in Texas (SJR 8), legalizing Hold 'Em games would be a decent start.
